A PRIMARY school girl from Milverton has joined an elite band of youngsters to have earned all 57 Brownie badges.

And ten-year-old Scarlett Joiner achieved the incredible feat within just three years of joining the village unit.

As well as the interest badges, ranging from agility to writing, Scarlett also achieved several regional and commemorative badges.

Some were earned alongside the other girls in her unit, but many were undertaken in her own time.

Among the first badges sewn on her uniform were those for swimming and advanced swimming, a sport she excels at.

As time passed, her passion for new skills and knowledge flourished and her final accomplishments were the Brownie camper and camper advanced badges.

Unit Leader Nikki Ross said: “I'm delighted that Scarlett embraced Girlguiding’s purpose so avidly, to discover and grow, developing her potential.”

Scarlett, who has now left the unit to join the Milverton Guide Unit, said: "I've loved being a Brownie."
