THE biggest donation to Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment last week was £968.50 from Rumwell Farm Shop from fundraising activities last year.
Pat Clunie presented a cheque for £522 raised from the Bristol Marathon to the County Gazette-backed charity, which helps buy equipment for the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital.
Collections of 5p coins totalled £13 from Marion Coombes, £15 from Peter and Jacqui Curry, £2.10 from Henry Besley, £3 from Rita Ponting, £7 from the Old Railway skittle team and £94.50 from the Beacon Centre.
Collection pots brought in £47.33 at Rumwell Farm Shop and £92.83 from Londis, in Bridgwater.
There was £30.83 from the tea bar at the Beacon Centre, £310 raised by Di and Henry Besley and friends who went carol singing around West Monkton and £50 from the Old Railway skittle team at Highbridge from a Christmas raffle.
The congregation at St Peter's Church, Taunton, handed over £41.50, which was money collected in lieu of sending Christmas cards.
There was £48.95 in 5ps and 20ps from Stuart and Val Knowling, of Norton Fitzwarren, and £45 left at the Beacon Centre was mainly in 5ps from Norman Tomkies, of Street.
The weekly total of £2,291.34 means £660,384.47 has been collected since SURE linked up with the County Gazette.
