A TAUNTON company has pulled out of a potential deal to gazump a neighbouring firm.
The Ministry of Cake had expressed an interest in buying a 0.9-acre plot of land beside its factory in Frobisher Way.
Cooks Commercials, which currently rents the site, believed it had struck a deal with owner Taunton Deane Borough Council to buy the land.
But the authority appeared to be having second thoughts, believing it could possibly make more money selling to the cake maker.
But following our story on this website, a Ministry of Cake spokesman said: "We are no longer involved with this land sale and wish Cooks Commercials all the best."
The matter is due to be discussed by the Deane's scrutiny committee tomorrow (Tuesday) - watch out for a report on this website.
