A road near Taunton was closed while a huge clean up of 45 gallons of oil took place.
Police, firefighters and Highways officers were called out after 45 gallons of oil spilled from a drum onto the road between Oake and Bradford on Tone.
The incident happened shortly after 12am this morning (Wednesday, March 8) at Hillfarrance Road, Hillfarrance.
The firefighters used specialist equipment to stem the flow and prevent it from leaking into the nearby drains and watercourse before handing responsibility for the scene back to Highways.
The road was closed while clean-up works took place.
Road between Oake and Bradford-on-Tone has now reopened after clear-up of dumped oil. Many thanks for your patience@INRIXtraffic_SW https://t.co/h6gH1VhZ7b
