POLICE are holding a free property marking session at Bishop's Hull Church Hall on Saturday, May 6, from 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm.

People are invited to take along their mowers, blowers, generators, strimmers and any other gardening equipment to be shown how to mark it, and be given a record of make, model and serial number.

Bicycles will be security etched and a record provided for entering on to the appropriate website.

If you have ever looked on the police website of recovered stolen goods, you will be aware of the amount of gardening equipment and bicycles recovered by the police whose owners can’t be identified.

Security marking ensures that stolen goods, when recovered, get reunited with their owners.

Although the event is a free service, donations will be gratefully received towards the new village hall.

Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits will be available.

For any further information call 01823-288182.
