Weary commuters in Taunton will be handed free cans of cider today to help ease their rail travel stress.

Cider producer Orchard Pig announced earlier this week it will be handing out 500 cans of Reveller to travellers at a number of secret locations.

And it will come as no surprise that Taunton Railway Station is one of the chosen locations given it’s the county town in cider heartland.

The cider firm said it wants to help travellers who have faced a summer of delays and news rail fares are to see their highest increase in five years.

The team will be handing out cider from 3pm until 6pm at the locations in Taunton, Bristol and London.

Andrew Quinlan, founder of Orchard Pig, said: “With so many rail works happening over the past month and the majority carrying on into the weekend, we really just wanted to help exasperated passengers get into the Bank Holiday spirit. And, what better way to unwind than with a train cider.”
