THE M5 has reopened after a fatal collision involving a pedestrian caused hours of delays.
Police were working at the scene with Highways England Traffic at South Gloucestershire M5 northbound between J16 and 14.
Officers and diversion routes were put in place after the crash that took place before 4.40am this morning (September 14).
Avon and Somerset Police said the man is believed to have left his vehicle, which was parked on the hard shoulder, when the incident happened.
The lanes were reopened at around 11am.
The crash initially involved a HGV and a pedestrian. It is believed other vehicles hit the pedestrian after the first crash.
Police are now working to identify the victim and inform the next of kin.
