FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a flat fire in Taunton's Winchester Street this evening.
Crews were called to Milford Place just before 5pm after a call from a member of the public who could see what appeared to be a fire in a second floor flat and could here the fire alarm soounding.
Within minutes the team had arrived and swiftly entered the flat to find a fire involving a chip pan.
They manage to douse the flames and account for all of the occupants, before ventilating the heavily smoke-logged flat.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue confirmed the chip pan was destroyed and half the kitchen was damaged in the fire but fortunately there were no casualties.
