WEST SOMERSET played host to high octane cycling action as the Minehead Grand Prix came to town.
On Sunday, June 24 hundreds of cyclists participated in a series of races which took place on the streets around Blenheim Gardens.
A packed crowd enjoyed the sunshine and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the heart on the town.
Riders aged six to 60 were drawn from across the region and beyond to race on the traffic free road.
Plenty of residents also took part in the Community Cycle Ride which allowed families a chance to ride around and experience the course first hand.
Minehead Merlins were well represented and performed particularly well, picking up several prizes, while other locals including Graham Collins and Ros Willicombe did Minehead proud in the senior races.
