ONE of Taunton's largest retail premises is set to be vacant again just months after a new shop moved in.

Poundworld Plus has posted notices in its windows informing customers it is closing down.

The discount store only opened at the end of September in the former BHS premises in North Street, which had been empty following the collapse of that chain.

It is believed around 30 staff could lose their jobs at Poundworld, which is the latest high street trader to go into administration.

Notices announcing the closure say 'Everything must go!' and promotes savings of 'Up to 50 per cent off original price'.

Somerset County Gazette:

A further notice in the window from Deloitte LLP says they were appointed administrators on June 11 to manage the "affairs, business and property" of the company.

Somerset County Gazette:

Poundworld Plus will not accept returns, refunds or exchanges on items bought before June 11.

Anything bought after that date will qualify for like for like exchanges or refunds.

A member of staff who did not give his name said: "We're not definitely closing."
