THE barber who cut the hair of a Taunton teen who died after taking a suspected ecstasy tablet is raising money to help pay for his funeral.
Taunton has been left shocked following the death of 16-year-old Reece Murphy died at Musgrove Park Hospital on Monday (July 2) after collapsing while out with a group of friends.
Kaye Manser, 26, who works at recently opened Westlake Barbers on Station Road, said Reece's death had 'truly hit home'.
She is giving discounted cuts with money raised going toward supporting Reece's funeral.
“This has truly hit home for me. I’m doing this because I know what it feels like to lose someone you love," Kaye said.
“He was a beautiful boy and always made my day and if I can do anything for him or his family right now it would be to support them in any way I can.
“He left an imprint on me the moment I met him and I feel like although I only knew him from the chair it was enough for me to care."
Kaye is giving discount haircuts on Wednesday, July 18 to help raise funds.
A fundraising page for Reece's funeral has been set up following Reece's death. The page has already raised £3,515.
