OPENING hours at police stations in Somerset are changing.
The hours will change from September 3 following a review of the service across the Avon and Somerset force area and reflect periods of 'low footfall'.
A spokesman said: "Our priority is to have enquiry offices across the force area open at the times that our communities need them.
"We will continue to have police enquiry offices open seven days a week and our neighbourhood police officers will continue to work in their local communities."
Somerset area commander, Supt Mike Prior, said: “Next month there will be some changes to our enquiry offices across Somerset to make sure we are open at the times that we are needed the most and that we continue to be visible in our communities.
“We are committed to keeping our neighbourhood police officers based in their local communities.”
