PROLIFIC Tom Wadham netted five goals to fire Taverners up to third in Division One of the Taunton Saturday League with a 6-2 victory at Cossington.

Dale Webber added the other Taverners goal with James Hamilton and John Penwell responding for the home side.

Bridgwater Sports stay top after a convincing 4-1 win over their bogey team of last season Middlezoy Rovers. Craig McGann (3) and Simon Dodden were on target for them and Kenzie Farnham netting for Rovers.

Alcombe Rovers continued their good form winning for a third consecutive game. Their latest success was a 3-2 victory over Highbridge courtesy of goals from Matt Cracknell, Andrew Land and Luke Bloys.

Porlock and Wyvern shared the points with a 2-2 draw. Dominic Healey and Richie Rich scored for Porlock with Rob Hill netting both for Wyvern.

Staplegrove had a 2-0 lead over Marketeers thanks to goals from Liam Leavy and Ian Larcombe but threw it away losing 4-2. Dave Baker hit a hat trick for Marketeers and Lee Goss added the other.

Locomotives cruised to an 8-0 win over struggling Norton Fitzwarren, Wayne Warner and Matt Francis scoring a pair apiece with Mark Wilson, Jay Cross and Henry Cox also among the scorers.

In Division Two, Bishops Lydeard maintained their 100% record with a 3-2 win at Spaxton. Jamie Welch, Andy Lawton and Dave Richardson scored for Lydeard.

Westonzoyland moved second after a 5-1 win over Wellington 3rds whose consolation came from Paul Desborough.

Staplegrove Reserves, like the first team, also threw a 2-0 lead away to lose 4-2. Danny Trump netted twice for them but Wyvern Reserves hit back for victory with Matt Troup, Adam Barter, Scott Taylor and Steve Conway on target.

Civil Service and Hulan had an exciting 3-3 draw - Chris Griffen, Lee Hammond and Marcus Gauntlett scoring for Civil with Neil Morgan (2) and Mike Perrin doing likewise for Hulan.

Dulverton Town opened their campaign with a 4-2 home win over Nether Stowey. The goals were shared between Neil Ferris, Adrian Smith, Mark Oram and Damien Syrett.

Minehead Reserves also started their league season with victory, defeating Sampford Blues 2-0 thanks to goals from Jack Furze and Curtis Hodgson.

Predators leapt to the top of Division Three after a 3-0 win at the previous leaders Milverton Rangers, while North Petherton jumped from ninth to second after a 4-0 win at home to Norton Fitzwarren Reserves.

Bridgwater Sports Reserves had a 3-2 home win over Williton for who Matt Lovell scored both, one from open play and one from the penalty spot.

Simon Livy, Adam Crossman and Kyle Sear were on the scoresheet for White Hart Rangers in their 3-3 draw with Redgate.

An injury forced the league's 53-year-old press officer Nick Stilton to make a rare appearance for Staplegrove Colts in their 2-1 win over Alcombe Reserves.

Dave Horrell hit the winner for 'Grove with Roy Rogers netting for Alcombe.

In Division Four, Bridgwater Sports Colts made in four wins out of four, beating Dulverton Town Reserves 3-2. James Kelland scored for Dulverton who also benefited from an own goal.

Appletree dropped two points in a goalless draw with Middlezoy Reserves while Stogursey beat Porlock Reserves 6-4.

Old Inn beat Exmoor Rangers 3-0 with goals from Paul Shire, Aaron Lake and Damon Gibbons.

Swallowfield went down 6-4 against Westonzoyland Reserves despite a hat-trick from Stuart Leatherby.
