SOME unfamiliar-looking people have been delivering letters in Taunton today (Friday).

Several posties donned fancy dress to put your mail through your letterbox - in the hope of bringing a smile to people's faces and to raise money to support NHS staff at Musgrove Park Hospital.

From this morning and into next week, they are ditching their Royal Mail uniforms and dressing up as characters such as Superwoman, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Dom Top Gun.

Little Red Riding Hood, aka Evette Chapman, who managed to avoid the big bad wolf, said the idea is to raise at least £1,000 for the Love Musgrove Covid-19 Response Fund to support hospital staff and patients during the crisis.

She said: "We are here to support the NHS staff at Musgrove and will continue to do so during this difficult situation.

"Staff are working incredibly hard to keep us safe. Their dedication, commitment and passion to deliver exceptional care during this unprecedented period is truly inspirational and we are extremely proud of them.

"We at Taunton Royal Mail want to give something back to our local hospital and say a big thank you from everyone for everything they are doing.

"And if we can put a smile on our customers' faces while raising money, then that's worth going to work for."
