POLICE are appealing for information after a fatal road traffic collision on the A372 at Aller, near Langport.
At 6.39am on Friday, January 11, an Iveco flatbed lorry laden with mesh fencing was travelling towards Aller, when on the eastern outskirts of the village, the lorry's load is believed to have become unstable.
A Vauxhall Combo van, travelling in the opposite direction, then collided with the load.
The 40-year-old driver of the Vauxhall died at the scene as a result of the collision which happened in heavy rain.
The A372 remained closed until shortly before 12 noon.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have been travelling on the A372 around the time.
