AN image has been released by police of a large quantity of nails found scattered across the road around a housing estate in a village near Taunton.
The find in Greenway, Bishops Lydeard, has been reported to Wellington Neighbourhood Policing team.
It is not the first time nails have been left on the road in the area.
The picture was handed to the police by a local resident.
A spokesperson for the policing team said: "Nails have been found scattered on the road in this area numerous times now in recent days/weeks and a several local residents have suffered punctures as a result.
"Wellington Police Team are treating these incidents as criminal damage.
"We have already increased our patrols in this area and will continue to do so for as long as necessary.
"We would encourage all members of this community to be vigilant and to contact the police immediately via 999 if you witness anything unusual in this area."
