TAUNTON Titans pre-season training is well underway as players are returning to full fitness ahead of the season ahead.

Last season Sam Prior won supporters player of the season after a he was ever so consistent in the National League.

After one session last week Prior gave his thoughts on how the current pre-season is getting on.

He said: "It is really hard work but it is going really well. The boys are working really hard.

"We've been going a few weeks now and the levels just keep going up, we are really looking forward to some of these first tests coming up."

In terms of the upcoming friendlies, Prior said the team is looking forward to welcoming the Cornish Pirates to Taunton.

"Championship side coming to Taunton is massive and is something all the boys are looking forward to.

"It will be a huge challenge and a way to see where we are at moving into our second National One season."

That game is part of Taunton's August schedule of friendlies.

They will start with two midweek training games vs Exeter Uni followed by an away trip to Clifton on August 13.

The Cornish Pirates will come to Veritas Park on August 20 with the Warriors playing a curtain raiser as well.

The final pre-season game is against Cardiff Met on August 27.
