A SOMERSET care home has recently donated blankets and warm clothing for Taunton Association for the Homeless.
Hamilton Park Nursing Home, based in Taunton, has pledged warm clothing and blankets to the homeless shelter, which provides aid and support for people who have nowhere else to go.
Shelter estimates that in 2021, there were 274,000 homeless in the UK, many of whom were unable to sleep somewhere safe and warm.
A spokesperson for the nursing home said: "The team and residents have rallied round to gather as many blankets and warm clothing as possible.
"As we are all aware the temperature in the UK have at times been unbearable and as a home we would like to give back to the local community as much as we possibly can to keep the less unfortunate that little bit warmer."
The nursing home is also donating to foodbacks across the Taunton area.
