PREPARATIONS are underway for the second annual Black History Month celebration at Clarks Village, in Street.
The initiative is in collaboration with the Somerset Multicultural Association and this year promises to be bigger and better, according to the organisers.
Their aim is to bring BME people who live in rural Somerset together and to share vibrant black history and culture with the local community.
The event is free and family orientated running from Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22.
The weekend itself is set to be fun filled, with music and dance performances, steel pan workshops plus arts and crafts activities for the kids.
Mahalia's Kitchen will be running a food stall across the weekend providing sumptuous Caribbean cuisine.
Eden Simpson, from Somerset Multicultural Association, said: “We’re excited to build upon the success of last year's event and ready to celebrate in style.
"Kick start your half term in style and come celebrate with us. All are welcome”.
