TAUNTON are looking to recruit a back row forward after discovering that Pieter Tosen is unlikely to return for the new season.
The talented flanker captained the side before returning to his native South Africa and he has informed them he is unlikely to be back.
With another back row forward, Vince Morrell, opting to join Clifton, the side are light in that department.
Taunton's director of rugby Lee Waddon said: "It doesn't look like Pieter Tosen will be back, which is a bit of a blow.
"And, after missing out on signing Vince Morrell, we could do with another back row forward - a six or an eight."
Taunton were looking to sign three players at their first get together of pre-season last Thursday.
Former Albion Plymouth scrum half Nigel Cain attended but has opted to join Newton Abbot, a prop who played at national level is yet to make a decision and the third player failed to show.
Waddon said another three possible signings were due to attend training tomorrow - a second row who played for Somerset last season and two Weston-super-Mare-based props.
