A TRAIN fare dodger who failed to buy a £16 ticket from Cardiff to Taunton has ended up having to pay £504.
Shahzad Agha, 32, of Monthermer Road, Cardiff, committed the offence on September 13, North Somerset Magistrates' Court was told.
The case was proved in his absence and he was fined £220 and ordered to pay £16 compensation, a victim surcharge of £88 and costs of £180.
At the same court Khadar Adan, 23, of Stockwell Road, London, was found guilty of travelling from he capital to Taunton on September 14 without paying the £322 fare.
He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £322 compensation, an £88 victim surcharge and costs of £180.
Nabeel Arshad, 33, of Coventry Road, Yardley, Birmingham, was guilty of avoiding the £98.10 fare to the county town on September 14.
He was fined £330 with £98.10 compensation, a £132 victim surcharge and £180 costs.
Joanne Louise Dowsett, 46, of Holly Blue Mews, Aylesbury, travelled to Taunton without buying a £110.10 ticket.
She was fined £220 and must pay £110.10 compensation, an £88 victim surcharge and £180 costs.
