STEVIE Wonder is the "outright favourite" to perform in the Sunday headline slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival, according to an online betting site.

For Once in His Life and without a hint of Superstition, speculation is rife that the veteran singer has already been offered the gig at Worthy Farm in June.

safebettingsites.com reckons Stevie Wonder shot to the top of the rankings after talks with previous leading name Madonna reportedly broke down.

He is quoted at odds of 5/6, ahead of Bruce Springsteen, the second favourite to close the Sunday night on the Pyramid Stage at 5/1.

Eminem is quoted in third spot at 7/1.

Somerset County Gazette:

Neil Roarty, spokesperson for safebettingsites.com, said: “There appear to be whispers that Stevie Wonder has already been offered the Sunday headline slot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival and he’s gone straight to the top of the betting for who may close the 2024 edition in Worthy Farm.

“The American is the odds-on favourite at 5/6 to headline the coveted final night slot, placing him ahead of Bruce Springsteen (5/1) and Eminem (7/1) in the market, with Dua Lipa and Coldplay already seemingly booked in for Friday and Saturday night.”

Other names in the hat are Stevie Nicks at 8/1; Pink 12/1; Adele 14/1; Cher 14/1; BAR 16/1.
