The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital received £500 in donations during a recent Winter Warmer event to provide essential care and support for cancer patients.

The donation was provided by Churchill Retirement Living's Riverain Lodge in Taunton.

The event, held on February 9, invited guests to the cosy Owners' Lounge for coffee, cakes, and a chat, in exchange for a small contribution to the charity.

A highlight was a hand-knitted doll named Constance, donated for the children's unit at the hospital.

Jo Ridehalgh, senior marketing executive for Churchill Retirement Living, said: "We're delighted by the success of our Winter Warmer event and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us raise such a fantastic total in support of a great local charity.

"It's a perfect example of the community spirit on offer here at Riverain Lodge, and how we enjoy the opportunity to give something back to the local community."

The Winter Warmer event was held throughout February at Churchill’s retirement developments across the country, with all the money raised going towards local causes chosen by its apartment Owners and Colleagues.
