COLDPLAY will make Glastonbury Festival history this year by becoming the first act to headline the iconic Pyramid Stage five times.

The Yellow and Viva La Vida hitmakers will return to Worthy Farm for the first time since 2016 on Saturday night with the only European festival appearance of their Music of the Spheres world tour.

The appearance will see them overtake The Cure, the previous joint headliner record-holders.

Former West Holts headliner Little Simz will return to Worthy to play her biggest slot yet immediately before Coldplay take to the stage.

Dua Lipa – who this week unveiled her third album Radical Optimism – will make her debut on the Pyramid on Friday night.

The Friday bill also features Glastonbury veterans LCD Soundsystem and PJ Harvey.

Multiple Grammy and Brits Award winner SZA will bring her brand of hip hop and R&B to the main stage as the Sunday night headliner.

She will make her Glastonbury debut after Sunday sets from Afrobeats megastar Burna Boy and Janelle Monáe.

Shania Twain will fill the coveted Sunday teatime legend slot.

Emily Eavis, co-organiser of the festival, said: “I’m so happy to be able to bring you the first shortlist of artists for Glastonbury 2024.

“There is even more to come over the coming weeks, when we will be bringing you the full line ups for each area.

“Thank you to the great Stanley Donwood for this beautiful poster.”

Glastonbury 2024 will be held from Wednesday, June 26 to Sunday, June 30.

Tickets are sold out but the festival is giving away 20 pairs through its prize draw to raise emergency funds to support people affected by conflict
