A spokesperson said: “The warden team has been making good use of the pleasant weather by sprucing up our parks.

“You may have seen our post earlier today about the refresh of the play equipment at Comeytrowe Park, which has been welcomed by the residents.

“There is an ongoing programme to brighten up all the play areas, with work started on park number two today, Staplegrove Recreation Ground.

“Even where the painting isn't required, they've been mending vandalised swings (Lyngford Park) and upgrading rubber matting (French Weir Park).

“The programme of bench refurbishment in Victoria Park is now complete and work will continue across the rest of our parks.

“This Sunday, Taunton welcomes visitors from Lisieux, our twin town in France.

“To make the best possible impression, the wardens gave the 'Welcome to Taunton' signs a scrub.

“Alongside the recent deep clean of all of our loos and ongoing warden work like strimming and general maintenance, there is a real air of spring cleaning.

“We hope that these small improvements make a big difference and allow our residents to feel proud of their local area.”
