A TAKEAWAY business which prided itself on high quality homemade food has closed down after three months in operation.

K&M Burgers and Pizzas Ltd first opened at the end of January, and operated out of The King William pub in Shepton Mallet.

The business was a hit among locals, offering handmade burgers and pizzas as well as sides such as fries, onion rings, and a range of chicken wings.

Despite overwhelmingly positive feedback, the business has announced the 'sad news' that it has been forced to close.

On Facebook, a spokesperson for K&M Burgers and Pizzas wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our beloved business.

"To all our incredible customers who've been with us since day one, we extend our sincerest apologies for this sad news.

"We want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. It's been an amazing journey serving you all.

"As we bid farewell, we wish each and every one of you the very best. Thank you for being a part of the K&M family."

The announcement came just weeks after the business posted that it would temporarily close from Wednesday, May 1 to May 8, and re-open on Thursday, May 9.

In response to the news, many locals expressed their sadness towards the closure of the recently opened takeaway.

One Facebook user said: "Best pizza and burger in town.

"Thankyou so much for the quality food and service you provided. Those that didn't get involved have missed and absolute gem of a place!"

Another local added: "Gutted, you guys have the best takeaway around. I will really miss those burgers. Thanks for fabulous food."

A third said: "Well that is a shame. Best takeaway for miles."
