A captivating story about a bubbly little sausage dog called Poppy who wants to find ghosts in Dunster has been published by renowned ghost writer Nina Dodd.
The fun adventure contains 16 full spread illustrations from different areas of Dunster such as the Yarn Market, Luttrell Arms and Gallox Bridge and is based on over 60 ghost stories which Dodd has written in the past.
Dodd when talking about how she got the idea of writing a children’s book said: “I was always reading stories as a child and continued the tradition with our two sons. After writing the ‘Witches, Giants and a Ghost Cat’ book, I thought it would be nice to have a children’s ghost book of Dunster as there were no such book on offer.”
With a target age of range of 4-10 year olds, parents and people intrigued by ghost stories, the book is perfectly set for those dark winter nights.
Nina, for the first time in this book, created her own illustrations which she described as “enjoyable” and set out to create her own interpretations of the area in Dunster that would appeal to both children and adults.
The back of the book reads: “Poppy loves a good adventure - and today she embarks on a ghost hunt! Come and join our bubbly little sausage dog for a walk around the beautiful, medieval village of Dunster, and see if you can help Poppy spot the ghosts on the pages of this book!”
