MEMBERS of Williton Twinning Association have returned home after a trip to their twin town in France.

The 41 twinners included 16 students from Danesfield Church of England School and seven from West Somerset Community College.

The group stayed with families in Neung sur Beuvron in the Sologne area of France and visited the Pegasus Bridge and the Mulberry harbour at Arromanches, scene of some D Day landings.

During the trip they also visited a stone mason, a farm and the Villesavin Chateau at Tour en Sologne.

Many of the children had not been to France before so enjoyed eating the local food, spending their money in the shops and trying to speak to their hosts in French. Chairman, Graham Bigwood, said: “This was a good trip because we found out so much about traditional village life and how it compares with ours.”
