Yeovil Town midfielder Darren Way virtually made a clean sweep of the end-of-season player presentations on Saturday at Huish Park.

Popular Way, who has made such an impact for the club since he first arrived in the summer of 2000, claimed all but one of the annual awards.

Among the awards he won was the Yeovil Express Player of the Season trophy as voted for by readers.

He was an overwhelming winner in our poll with Michael McIndoe second and Lee Johnson and Chris Weale in joint third spot.

Express chief reporter Steve Sowden said: "In a season where every player has been a winner, I think it is testimony to Darren's all-round battling qualities that he has become such a hero with the supporters."

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson said: "Well done to Darren, but I say well done to everyone in the squad.

"They all have ability and they all have certain strengths and the way they marry it together with their commitment and their passion is why you have a championship winning team.

"They've done that all season and I'm proud of them all."
