A COUPLE organised a summer fair that raised £3,150 for Taunton’s Albemarle Centre, which supports disadvantaged groups within the community.
More than 230 people attended the ‘Good Going’ event at Park House, Over Stowey, the home of Rosemary and Don Heys.
Mrs Heys has long supported the Albemarle and her husband has chosen the charity as one of the causes he is supporting during his year as president of The Rotary Club of Taunton.
As well as several stalls, there were lunches and teas, a raffle and entertainment from the Quantock Quarenders.
The Albemarle, which receives no statutory funding, is currently carrying out a £250,000 refurbishment programme on eight flats it owns to allow people with disabilities to live independently.
