CUTCOMBE First School have been awarded the green flag in recognition of their eco-friendly facilities.
The school's Eco-Team have been working on making the school more ecologically-sound since Spring 2009.
The team's work recently saw the hall and classroom ceilings lowered and insulation added, along with the installation of energy efficient lighting.
A school-wide project to develop the school pond was also launched as part of the Green Flag Action Plan.
The work was funded by a successful bid for LARC funding secured by the school this September.
The school also had support from organisations involved in the Exmoor Eco-Schools Initiative.
The assessor's comments said: “The dedication, enthusiasm and ownership of the EcoSchools ethos by the Eco-team and EcoSchool Co-ordinator was very strong.
“For a tiny rural school they should be congratulated on what they have achieved so far, both the small everyday things and the bigger projects.”
