PUPILS at Thurlbear Primary School have been planting apple trees in the school grounds.
Each class has its own tree, which they planted with the help of Robin Small, of Charlton Orchards.
The varieties were specially chosen so that the apples mature during term time.
Head teacher Mike Amos said: “When a class leaves to go to secondary school, the ‘ownership’ of their tree will pass to the incoming reception children.”
