DISGRUNTLED residents in Milverton have pulled the plug on joining a steering group to discuss proposals for the contentious Creedwell Orchard development.
The group was put forward by developer Notaro in an attempt to liaise with villagers about what they want from the proposed 72-home expansion.
But residents, who fear the extra properties would flood the village with traffic, have rejected the invitation because they feel the developers won’t budge over their original plans.
Michael Reynolds of Save Milverton Action Group (SMAG) said: “When we met with Notaro they offered a ‘blank sheet’ and said they would listen to our concerns and ideas.
“However we have now been told that any steering group would be ‘expected to support the final outcome’.
“We are disappointed they are not taking into account our concerns for their proposed scheme.”
Steve Rosier, project manager for Notaro, added: “It is a shame people do not wish to be involved with the steering group. The purpose of this was to review and agree every decision on the eventual design.”
