If it's good down here, god knows what the rest of the country is like. I'd say more like complete shambles.. I should know

Couldn't agree more jess, what a blinking shambles!

(Good Old Days) 1 x Postie, Push Bike, Delivered at around 7am

(Old Service) 1 x Postie, Push Bike, Delivered at around 10ish

(New Service) 2 x Posties, Diesel Van, 7pm Delivery!

Still I guess if they keep extending the delivery time we will eventually get back to 7am again :)

My understanding is is that RM wish to make the business as unattractive as possible so as to put off prospective buyer if it is eventually put up for sale.

Someone is having a laugh, I'm typing this at my in-laws in the midlands, the postman arrived at 7am this morning, in Taunton our post arrives at around 1pm, that used to be called second post, remember that?

Taunton postal staff are a lovely bunch, it's obviously their regional management that have cocked up the way that they work, meaning it's not possible to get deliveries through our doors at a reasonable time of the day.

The postal service in Taunton and Wellington is very good. I received a letter the other day that took 10 days to come from Wellington. But at least they managed to deliver it, sometime when I'm expecting post it never arrives. But I can guarantee on a Monday moring I will receive the special offer leaflets from the supermarkets etc.

I cannot comment on my home post, as I am never in the house between 8am-5pm. But our office recieves their post around 10am-11am and it always seems to have arrived promptly. (The date on the letters is always within the past few days)
I don't like to bad-mouth the local post office, as their new 'way of working' comes from above. The local postmen are simply doing as they are told. Yes deliveries are later - but that is because they now have to start work at 6am and not 3.30am. This is bound to have an effect on delivery times.

Some days don't see them, had one posty who couldn't read and was just dumping all 36 mail in one street! Drive like muppets brand new vans that that already look like sheds.

Shocking it used to be good about 7 years ago.

Redirected mail makes me chuckle council spend loads on do not redirect envelopes and posties here redirect it anyway. Posties just don't care anymore if they cant have time for a second job.
