BEER and cider drinkers polished off a staggering 14,000 pints AND helped a forces charity at a festival.

Organisers of the three-day Weston Real Ale Festival handed over £5,000 to Royal Marines welfare charity Go Commando.

Debbie Howarth, of Go Commando, said: “This is an amazing contribution from the Weston Lions.

“The money will be put to good use for a project to construct a play area for children of Royal Marines’ families and refurbishment of the Families Centre at Norton Manor Camp.”
