The Ladies at Taunton and Pickeridge enjoyed a blustery game on Tuesday  when 35 members braved the elements to  play four ball competition after which they gathered together to  enjoy lunch. 

The winners of the competition were Berni Hatcher, Heather Crump, Claire Hannigan and Shirley Portis. There was also an alternative game at the weekend with the winning team comprising of Linda Brown, Marion Mittermaier and Marion Beranek.

The Junior Club Nights have resumed at T&P on Monday evening, when the winner of the first competition of the season an 18 Hole Stableford was Benjamin Newman with 34 points.

Second place went to Thomas Gendall who returned with 32 points, while this year's Junior Captain Alfie Sully was third one point behind with 31.

Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club’s 32nd Pro-Am, sponsored once again by Davis & Barrett Brickwork & Scaffolding Contractors Ltd, will be taking place on Friday 12th July 2024.  

With over 40 South-West professional golfers competing, T&P’s Head Professional, Jason Avery, will be hoping to successfully defend his title. 

This year’s prize fund will be similar to last year’s with every professional guaranteed a minimum £150, and the top three professionals receiving prize monies of £450, £350 and £250.  

Amateur players will compete for the amateurs’ prize table, with team prizes to at least fourth place, and several individual hole prizes to be won.  

Teams consist of any combination of three amateurs – men’s, ladies’, mixed – and a PGA Professional. 

The Pro-Am is an opportunity for Club Captain, Mike Robinson, and Ladies’ Captain, Emma Smith, to raise funds for their chosen charity The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance which provides lifesaving, pre-hospital critical care, to patients in need.
