WORLD famous composer Howard Goodall conducted the premiere of an anthem for Taunton School at chapel last week.

The work, based on Psalm 145, was commissioned by the school and written by Mr Goodall, who wrote the theme tunes for Blackadder and the Vicar of Dibley, for the chapel choir.

The five-minute piece for soprano, alto, tenor and bass was commissioned by Old Tauntonians Alan and Mary Morgan, Jan Nuttall and Henry Keeling.

The chapel choir is recording the anthem early next year and performing the US premiere in New York next October.
