THERE are fears surrounding the future of a popular snooker and pool venue in Taunton.

The doors at Rileys, on Station Road, were shut today (November 20) with a sign directing people to the nearest club in Exeter.

A number of Rileys venues across the country appear to have also closen according to reports on social networking site Twitter.

A spokesman for Rileys said: "At the moment, there is a sales process underway but we are unable to make any further comment at this stage."

The venue hosts dozens of darts, pool and snooker teams across the Taunton and District Leagues which would be affected by a closure.

Keep checking back for more developments when we get them.

Riley's loss, the Railway Clubs gain, so this is fantastic to see. The level of service at Riley's was usually a grunt and taking your money, so I have no feelings towards most of the staff for losing their jobs. Too bad I will not see frosty again :)
