OVER £700 has been raised this week for the County Gazette-backed Somerset Unit for Radiation Equipment (SURE) appeal.

Donations are: £259.35 from parishioners at St George’s Church, Wilton; £82 from Marilyn David Baker; £180 from the Prowse family, and £50 from Iain Harrison.

A Beacon Centre 5p collection of £140 included £43.55 from the Hanlon family.

The grand total now stands at £309,282.

A concert at the Lawns Social Club, Taunton, at 4pm this Sunday will pay tribute to recently deceased SURE stalwart Eric Saffin. Tickets cost £5.
