A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with a number of alleged weapons offences following an incident in Taunton town centre on Saturday.
Jamie Enright was arrested after police were sent to deal with an incident at Halifax bank in East Street at around 1.40pm.
Mr Enright, of no fixed address, appeared before Taunton Magistrates on Monday, for a preliminary hearing in connection with four charges.
They are: possessing a Gamo P25 air weapon with intent to cause harm; possessing an offensive weapon in public (an empty vodka bottle containing a fabric wick and a tin of lighter fluid); possessing an offensive weapon in public (a knuckle duster); and possessing a bladed article in public (a kitchen knife).
Mr Enright was remanded in custody and his case has been moved to Taunton Crown Court, where he is due to appear on January 16.
