Unemployment in Taunton falls by almost 500 in a year
THE latest unemployment figures show there are 1,038 people claiming Jobseekers Allowance at Taunton Job Centre – down from 1,524 a year ago.
Across Somerset, 3,719 are on Jobseekers Allowance, a fall of 36.4% on this time last year.
And the number of people in Somerset claiming the allowance for over six months has dropped by 47.4% over the past year.
