A TAUNTON Deane councillor's resignation has prompted a by election.
Cllr Charlotte Edwards, who sits on the ward of Blackdown for the authority, has resigned.
She said: "I have found it increasingly difficult balancing my work and family commitments and I decided it was best that I stood down.
"It has been a huge pleasure representing the Blackdown Ward, an area I grew up in and I am sure whoever replaces me will share my enthusiasm for what is a wonderful part of our area."
If contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, December 15.
Nomination papers may be obtained at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, Taunton, TA1 1HE from the Returning Officer.
They must be returned to The Deane House by 4pm on Friday, November 18.
Postal vote applications must be made to the Electoral Registration Officer at The Deane House by 5pm on Wednesday, November 30, while proxy vote applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday, December 7.
