KINGSMEAD School held its annual presentation evening to award students various awards.

The event was held on July 12 to celebrate the pupils’ achievements.

Students, teachers, parents, school staff and governors attended the ceremony.

Headteacher and year head commendations were handed out alongside a range of school trophies.

Malachy McLay ,Year 9, was given the Peter Mullan Rotary Cup for excellent progress in the enrichment centre.

Eleanor Redish, Year 10, was given the George Heath Memorial Trophy for excellent progress in music.

Lilli-Rose Stenning, Year 10, was given the Wiveliscombe Book Group Award for Endeavour.

Connie Woods-Gundry , Year 10, was given the Wiveliscombe Book Group Award for history.

Marnie Chisnall, Year 8, was given the the Emma Harris Award for reading.

Jago Yelland, Year 8, was given the 10 Radio Award.

Maddie Shaw and Jack Odams, Year 10, were given the Paul Cups for outstanding all-round contribution to school sport.

Guests enjoyed music from Elanor Redish, who performed on the piano, and Lilymay Nicholls and Emily Raisey who sang.

The school welcomed guest speaker Beth French, who gave a speach about how she overcame illness as a teenager to become a long-distance endurance runner.
