Taunton School students have notched another fantastic set of International Baccalaureate diploma results.

Jamie Wilman achieved an outstanding highest possible score of 45 points, putting him in the top 0.2% of students worldwide.

Other successes include Joss Hiett, who is to read history and English at Oxford University after achieving 40 points with top scores in all his higher level subjects.

William Wickman and Susan Sebatindira, who are off to the London School of Economics, and Laura Harwood, who has won a place at the Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design, all earned top grades, equivalent to well above three As at A Level.

Taunton School’s IB diploma co-ordinator Martin Bluemel said: “I’m delighted for all these students.

“The IB diploma is now becoming firmly established in Somerset as a strong and successful alternative to A Levels.

“Increasingly popular with universities, it offers a challenging programme with a breadth and independence of study that is unique at this level.”
