THE Freemasons’ Grand Charity has given £3,272 to support the work of St Margaret’s Hospice in Taunton.

The cash will assist hospices in their work caring for people with a life-limiting illness and are funded by donations from Freemasons and their families, including fundraising 'festivals' held each year.

John Cottrell, provincial senior grand warden at Wellington School Lodge, and Terry Hayes, provincial grand steward at Pilgrims Lodge, Glastonbury, presented a cheque to Pam Knight, director of fundraising and communications for St Margaret’s Hospice.

She said: “I’m delighted to accept this cheque on behalf of St Margaret’s Hospice and I’d like to thank the Freemason’s Grand Charity for generously making this donation to the hospice at this special time of year.

“Their contribution helps us continue to deliver specialist care to local people affected by life-limiting illness.”
