NORTON Fitzwarren Village Hall has some sparkling new facilities – thanks to a load of rubbish.

The Station Road hall has had a £50,000 revamp to the lounge and dance floor as well as creating a coffee bar to improve the food and drinks service.

The project also involves reopening and glazing windows and creating partitions to allow more flexible usage and improve access to the lower lounge.

The scheme was carried out through a Biffa Award – Biffa waste management company donates a percentage of its tax liability on waste dumped in landfill sites to projects working to improve communities within the vicinity.
