All the unfortunate owner of the stolen property will get is a crime number and some literature from "The Constabulary". Recovery of goods very unlikely, that's Taunton! However do something slightly wrong whilst driving then "Plod" will spring into action and prosecute! Conclusion don't drive, keep anything of value in a vault and think of carrying a Smith & Wesson product just in case you need to challenge your burglar.

Nail on the head, especially in the avon and somerset force area. They sit on reports for so long any witnesses or cctv has long since gone and them have nerve to tell me they have a prime suspect but because it was 6 weeks after report that they started investigating and cctv evidence is only kept 4 weeks (they knew this from the start) is gone!

Difference being if you gather evidence of speeding you 14 days to get the NIP and forces are allowed to recover their costs. Any other crime just doesnt make financial sense to put any resources into suits the government as burgulars and rapist don't generate reveune for the treasury and they dont get their second pads and ipads paid for simples.

Avon and Somerset police will even defy a court and hang on to evidence siezed unlawfully by their own officers as Colin Port believes he is above the law.
