A FORMER British Olympic champion gave a speech in Wellington at the official opening of a retirement housing development.
Dame Mary Peters, pentathlon gold medallist at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, was the guest of honour as McCarthy & Stone opened its Dukes Court development at Bulford.
Jacqui Meenan, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone, said: “Dame Mary continues to be an inspiration for the older generation and is a shining example of someone who appreciates that age is something to be celebrated and enjoyed.”
