WILLITON Remembers WW1 is gearing up for its day of remembrance on September 20.
A commemoration service, followed by a concert, will take place at the War Memorial Ground and will include a presentation of mementos to schoolchildren and competition winners.
The day will start with a grand parade, led by representatives of exservicemen, cadets and other organisations.
Watchet piper Fred Bacon will accompany the procession and organisers hope that everyone attending the service will join the parade to make it a spectacular start to the day's events.
During the afternoon, the combined Military Wives’ choir from Taunton and the RMB Chivenor and West Brass will entertain with a wide range of songs and music.
Bert Pearson from Williton Remembers WW1 said: “We hope that many people will make a day of it and bring a picnic along to have lunch between the service and the concert.”
Cllr Robert McDonald added: “It is very fitting that the Williton Remembers WW1 project reaches its conclusions in the public open space, which is a constant reminder to every generation of the sacrifices made their predecessors.”
