WATCHET’S music man Peter Stevenson is organising another 24-hour music marathon to raise money to help with the rebuilding of Gaza and to provide medical relief for the people of the crisis-torn area.

The music marathon will take place on Saturday, October 4, from 10am until 10pm on Sunday, October 5, at the Sanctuary, Swain Street in Watchet.

Pete is asking for musicians to come forward and perform for an hour or half an hour.

He said: "Musicians are coming from all over the west country - a punk band from Weston-Super-Mare, a sitar player from Axminster and lots of musicians from Taunton, Minehead and Watchet.

"Darren Hodge will astound us with his brilliant guitar playing as will Ryan Hawkins the recent "Battle of the Bands" winner.

"Small children will be invited to sing nursery rhymes and there will be several open-mic opportunities for passing musicians.

"Drums and shakers will be available all weekend to encourage people to join in.

"We also need cakes and sandwiches to be donated if people would be so kind and flasks of tea and coffee.

"I'm also running two half marathons in support of this cause."

Pete is aimed to raise £1000 for the Disaster Emergency Committee's Appeal for medical relief in Gaza.
